Lacy Kirkland is an unleaded coffee drinker, adventure-seeker, Writer, Healer and High Performance Coach. When she was born, Lacy weighed 3lbs. and had a birth defect that required immediate surgery. Doctors told her parents to give up on her, that she probably wouldn't survive anyway, and that if she did, she would never live a normal life. At the age of 16, Lacy was diagnosed with chronic pain, told she would be disabled for the rest of her life, would never have a real job, would be numbed by pain pills, and wouldn't amount to anything. At the age of 17, she battled 2 life-threatening infections and by 19-years-old she had undergone 5 major surgeries.
Lacy taught herself how to heal chronic pain and now teaches people how to heal physical and emotional pain. She loves studying people and has spent the last 20 years studying healing, communication, emotional intelligence. She speaks and writes about life with her wife, Maggie, in an effort to teach people how to build and nurture emotionally intelligent lives and relationships.
She is a Certified High Performance Coach and Product Launch Video Script Copywriter dedicated to help people advance their lives and careers.
Lacy says that she writes because that’s how she learns about herself and about the world:
"I find that I become a better person, a greater lover, a more brave human, a loving soul, an empathetic creature, through writing. I write because it leads me home, to myself, to greater connection and being. I share because people tell me it helps them and because I believe that if we know something that can help someone, it’s our responsibility to share it."
Lacy lives in Portland, Oregon with her wife and their italian greyhound, Sophie.
